1940-something

the 1940's

Leo Seltzer started the Roller Derby with a bunch of skates and friends who wanted to get paid to make others crash // Walter Morris saw people throwing around metal plates & invented the plastic "flying saucer"(frisbee) // 18,000 vacuum tubes were utilized to make the first computer at the University of Pennsylvania // outfits & accessories were shaped by war & major economic shifts (think broad-shoulder pads ---> introduction of "pumps")

We found our own piece of the 1940's last Friday in the form of a quaint apartment building . One look was enough.  We saw, signed, and deposited on the same day.  Jon moves in this Friday & I will join him in September.  [[ once again, thank you Craig's List ]]

I'm pretty excited to see what this place will turn into during the next couple of months-----HOME.
