3 giants

In life, you are given weeks that [go down effortlessly] and you are given weeks in which you must [attempt to swallow giants].

First, size up the giant, then swallow, and finally, digest.

Depending on the nature of the giant [good bad ugly], some of these steps come easier than others.

FOR EXAMPLE,

this last week was my 21st birthday. extra-bright smiles, generous words, and charming presents filled my Monday. A sincere thanks to you all.

this last week, for the first time in history [ yes, all of history ] Master's College Tennis is nationally ranked.  Before you fall off your chair, keep in mind that it is a humble #32, but nonetheless significant for our young program! God has truly blessed our team this year with solid players and even better : true companions. It's sharing the tears & laughter of life that make the on-court frustrations and victories seem so temporary.  I'm thankful I'll have these teammates for life.

the blessings of the Lord seldom come without a reminder of our dependence on Him.

this last week, Mom was diagnosed with kidney cancer.  Strange as it is to say it out loud, typing it makes it even more real.  I'll write more in the following days, but I want to say that my parents are my heroes. If you ask them, they will tell you it's been hard. Life isn't normal right now, and we don't have to pretend that it is.  But my parents have peace : : impossible to fake and highly sought after by the world. More later...
