arriving home

After 6 months of wandering, I made it home.  This weekend was full of long-awaited moments : hugging my parents in the airport, meeting the new additions to our family (pictures coming soon), hugging old friends who have grown (in all aspects) since the last time we parted ways.

Interestingly enough, after spending an extended period of time in Israel, it was hard to leave.  I had grown accustomed to the culture, land, and nuisances of living overseas.  After initial shock and a couple of months, I was finally comfortable being there.  Leaving was bitter-sweet and yet full of the hope that I will return multiple times.

ISRAEL --- LA  .  I would describe last week as sheer madness. A flurry of hello's that were followed by goodbye's. Unpacking and repacking [complete with multiple visits to the dreadful storage unit].  Jet-lag had no time to hit with the anticipation of taking tests, the excitement of driving on LA's freeways, & spending a day with Jon.

LA --- KANSAS . There was nothing like walking into my house and feeling instantly comfortable. This month home will be spent wisely //  debriefing my experiences in Israel // preparing for my last semester of college // seeking out new ministries // encouraging and fellowshipping with old friends.  I'll be posting pictures/thoughts/inspiration throughout the month! Thanks for all of the prayers this last semester, mileage means nothing in the body of Christ & I felt the warmth of your love across the Atlantic.

Yeah, Kansas has mastered the sunrise.  Nothing complements the sun like a endless horizon and a bigger-than-life sky.
