Archeology....sigh. If you haven't ever had a profound desire to examine dusty, almost-unidentifiable objects...you are not alone. We saw a lot of historical sites today: lots of ancient tels, stellas, gates, altars, etc. BUT, to support the argument for the importance of archeology, I will say that spending hours studying "History of Ancient Israel" makes the Old Testament and those "dusty, almost-unidentifiable objects" spring back to life. After half a semester [wow, already?] in Israel, I am becoming one who appreciates the study of those who have "gone before"...oh how much we have to learn from them.
Here's the jam-packed itinerary for our day: [Hazor] [Dado overlook] [Tel Dan] [Caeserea Philippi] [Nimrod Castle] [Golan Heights]
Even if you are usually a fellow UNenthusiast of history, I hope my pictures give you hope of finding the ancient world to be relevant to your life today.
