Our first full day in Israel we had class, which consisted of orientation and an afternoon hike! Our three-bed dorm room is small but sufficient, and I think the Moshav where we are staying is beautiful. Nicole & I keep saying "This reminds us of summer camp!" And if we get 3 1/2 months of camp, that's perfectly okay with us!
I know most students at IBEX don't love the food, but my "international" tastebuds have been enjoying all of the mediterranean salads, vegetables, & hummus. [That information is subject to change in the next couple months as I start to miss Mexican food]
QUICK debrief of today (our second day)//
Spent all day (8-5) walking in Old Jerusalem. Highlights: seeing the place where Christ was crucified & buried, walking through all 7 gates leading into the Old City, & touching the Western (Wailing) Wall. The flood of historical facts and biblical proofs were overwhelming, and I'm so thankful I have months to return to some of these places. I learned that Jerusalem is the most excavated site/city in the world!! & yet there are so many places that archaeologists have to uncover, the problem is that the Jews & Arabs would probably start World War III in the process.

STRANGELY, the backside of my left hand fell asleep on the plane & it still hasn't came back to me. I am becoming slightly ambidextrous from using my right hand to eat, brush my teeth, put my hair up, take notes, you name it. Kinda annoying, but the Lord is definitely teaching me to slow down. If you have any suggestions for how to wake my hand up, please share!
